Cash Match

How to run a cash match in Valid8.

Activate the accounting extract

  1. Click the Accounting Extracts tile.
  2. Go to ALL EXTRACTS. Sort the list by GL TXNS, largest to smallest. This helps you to record which extracts are active and which extracts have had Cash Match run.
  3. Select one extract. Click Reimport on the toolbar.
  4. Wait. The extract status changes to PROCESSING and then to PROCESSED. A green check mark shows in the Active column. Refresh the page to see the status. Each reimport takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes.

Assign and enable the bank account

  1. Go back to the Process Map. Open the Bank Statements tile, or use the sidebar menu.
  2. Assign bank statements to the account that shows Available in the reconciliation area. Cash Match fails if the account has no statements.
  3. In the Account View, select the account on which Cash Match must run. Click Edit on the toolbar.
  4. Make sure that Available for Ledger Trace is selected.

Run Cash Match

  1. Go back to the Process Map. On the Cash Match tile, click the three-dot menu. Select Find New Matches.
  2. Enter the start date and the end date. The dates must agree with the start date and the end date of the general ledger. Click Start.
  3. Wait for Cash Match to complete. The system puts the workpaper in the Exports section automatically.

Get the results

  1. Run a new Matched ERP/Items report and a new Cash Match report after each run. This captures the new data. The reports stay in the Exports section permanently.
  2. Export the transaction report that contains “ERP Items” if you need the additional columns that support the GL matches.

Repeat for each account

  1. Repeat steps above for each accounting extract. You can set only one account active at a time, and you can run only one Cash Match at a time on one active general ledger.

Notes

  • A reimport does not consume more VPUs. The system consumes VPUs only at the initial upload.
  • A “Completed with Error” result or a file error with no results usually indicates a problem with the uploaded cash journal file or with the account assignment. Send the file to support for a review.
  • A general ledger extract upload consumes VPUs. Confirm the quantity with your account manager before you upload a large extract.
