Deposits Containing Multiple Checks

Manual association and disassociation

If automatic grouping missed a check, or attached the wrong one, you can fix it by hand from the
Check Images grid — but only under specific conditions.

To manually associate a Front with a Deposit Slip, both items must currently be in
TO MATCH. If either one has already been matched or approved, you cannot attach it; unmatch it
first.

To disassociate a Front that was attached (automatically or manually), the same rule applies
in reverse: both the child item and the parent Deposit Slip must be in TO MATCH. You cannot pull
a check out of a deposit group while either side is in TO APPROVE or Matched — unmatch the one
that's ahead first.

What happens to the match when you disassociate

Detaching a Front from its Deposit Slip does not delete anything. It removes the relationship
between the two items only. Because a child item's status is tied to its parent's while attached,
once you disassociate it the Front becomes its own independent item again, free to be matched,
re-grouped under a different deposit, or left in TO MATCH on its own.

Note that removing or adding children also changes the deposit's own numbers: Valid8 keeps an
Adjustment line in sync automatically so the deposit still balances against whatever children
remain attached. You don't need to fix that total yourself.
