Loading Bank Image Evidence

This part of the process imports check Images into your Valid engagement, so they can be reconciled to bank statement data as additional proof of transactions.

Clicking the Check Files Tile brings up the Load window with the Check Images option pre-selected. This same window can be opened by clicking the Import button available on most screens and then you will need to select the Type of Import.

Uploading Check Images

Follow these steps to upload Check Images:

  • Make sure Check Images (PDF) is selected and click Next.
  • Either click Select Files and navigate to the files to upload or drop the files onto the window.
    • Files need to be PDF format, otherwise you will receive this message Error: file extension not accepted.
    • Please remove all non-image related pages from your files before uploading.
  • Once all selected files have finished pre-load, click Next.
  • On the final screen click Start Extraction to start the process.

Best Practices

For best results with Check Image Integration, follow these best practices for loading images:

  • Load files with Images only. Loading files that also include Bank Statement data, or other erroneous pages creates additional QA time to remove images that have been falsely identified as Check related images.
  • Organize files by the following (where possible):
    • Account - so that images for a single account are all within the same file.
    • Further split by Deposits Checks and Outgoing Checks if possible.
  • Size wise, restrict files to:
    • Limit of 25 MB sized files
    • 250 check items per file.

For larger files if you are splitting them into smaller files to load, make sure that you split the file so that deposit slips are in the same file as the checks images that are associated to them.

Another option to make the file smaller is to change the resolution of the file. Save the file at a lower quality resolution; 120-150 DPI (dots per inch) is fine, with a minimum of 72 DPI.
