Navigating the Process Map
The Process Map is the core dashboard of the Valid8 platform. It is organized into four regions — Load, Confirm, Match, and Analyze — that guide you through the full workflow of an engagement. A row of status dials at the bottom provides a real-time snapshot of progress across every major data category. You can return to the Process Map at any time by clicking the Valid8 logo in the top left corner.
Steps
- From any screen, click the Valid8 logo in the top left corner to return to the Process Map at any time. Alternatively, click the three-bar menu icon next to the logo to view all Process Map components as a dropdown list.
- Review the four regions of the Process Map:
- Load Region: Upload data for analysis. Tiles include bank statements, brokerage statements, transaction lists, check images, and accounting extracts (supports QuickBooks, Sage, and other accounting systems).
- Confirm Region: The Bank Statements tile displays all accounts and their statements, including start/end dates and a high-level view of inflows and outflows for each account.
- Match Region: Three matching functions — Transfer Match (money moving between accounts), Check Image Match (matching check and deposit slip images to statement transactions), and Cash Match (matching accounting bank account transactions to statement transactions).
- Review and Analyze Region: Filter transactions by amount, accounting source, and date. Use the Visualization feature to view inflows and outflows by category. Export data to Excel or generate a Financial Activity Report.
- Review the status dials at the bottom of the Process Map. Each dial displays the total count for its category. Click any dial to see a detailed status breakdown. Dials include: Files, Bank Accounts, Statements, Transfers, Checks, Bank Transactions, and Accounting Transactions.
Tips & Common Questions
- The logo is your home button. No matter where you are in the platform, clicking the Valid8 logo always returns you to the Process Map.
- The three-bar menu gives you a list view. If you prefer navigating via a menu rather than clicking tiles, use the three-bar icon next to the logo for a dropdown of all sections.
- Work left to right. The Process Map is designed to guide you through the engagement workflow in order: Load data first, then Confirm it, then Match transfers, then Analyze.
- Dials reflect real-time status. Check the bottom dials regularly to monitor how many items still need to be assigned, reconciled, or matched.
